These clients wanted to update their miss-match furniture and bring some personality to their living room. After my initial walkthrough, we decided that since their home was an open concept that we would expand the design to include their dining room as well. My main goal with this design was to make the space feel lived in and homey. To add function we replaced the pellet stove with a gas stove, installed a new counter to a dead space to make their kitchen feel bigger, and completely furnished both spaces with new furniture. To achieve this farmhouse style we added vertical shiplap on the main walls, new light fixtures, added a beam to the ceiling that matched the fireplace mantel, and used abstract artwork to help keep the aesthetic modern.
